That’s really interesting, my experience with ebooks vs paperbacks is the opposite of yours. I LOVE doodling on my books. I highlight i make comments in the margins, underline, you name it, I’ve done it. Sometimes longer notes went on post-its that I stuck in between the pages.

Logistically this was a problem though because when you’re stuck on a train you can’t really take out your highlighter (or even open up your book). But on the Kindle and Kindle app, I could do that one-handed. I could also easily pull out all the highlighted passages and notes without needing to go through the book — so as someone who did book reviews this was a massive time saver.

For physical books we have a marketplace in Asia called Carousell (its basically eBay on steroids) — I’ve picked up a lot of cheap used books that way. Not so sure about your side of the world though …
